Something to consider is the cost of installation often out ways the cost of these CCTV systems purchased from your local retail store. We have all heard the saying buy nice or buy it twice. Well this is something to seriously consider if you’re contracting fully licensed security agents, security installers and electricians to install the system for you. We have been contacted by customers who want to remove these systems, after a couple years and install something of better quality. Some our customers do not realise that there are far superior security products, available from our security wholesaler.

We have run into issues with some owner supplied systems, the quality can be poor, if the cables in the kit don’t reach, cable extensions are required, and this has caused clarity and signal issues. It can be frustrating for clients, because if we have not supplied the system, then we offer no technical support and no product warranty. We offer a full workmanship warranty, but if you experience any product faults, then this is not our responsibility - as we have not supplied the products. If we need to return due to a product fault, you will be charged for labour. If we supply the system, then we organise all manufacturer warranties and product technical support.

Many of the owner supplied CCTV systems are low quality and low-resolution analogue cameras with a DVR. We recommend doing some research before buying, to figure out what resolution, what kind of cameras and features you need before purchasing.

There is a big difference between analogue and IP PoE cameras. Please research Analogue Vs IP cameras so you fully understand the difference - IP cameras have better video quality, better zoom in capabilities, larger field of view, digital IP cameras can provide resolutions 6 to 20 times higher, IP cameras operate over PoE, have better intelligence and remote manageability.
