RCD & Smoke Alarm Maintenance Service - $95 Incl GST

J & C Electrical Contracting offers an optional annual smoke alarm and RCD maintenance service. We keep record of the associated due dates and smoke alarm expiry dates to alleviate real estate agents and landlords of this obligation. Includes an electrical safety certificate and a report which is emailed, detailing any works required or conducted.

 

Smoke Alarm Maintenance

  •  Check smoke alarms are permanently connected to mains power

  •  Ensure smoke alarm locations comply with the Building Code of Australia

  •  Ensure smoke alarms are less than 10 years old (We record this date and notify when replacement is required)

  •  Cleaning of alarm vents

  •  Smoke and decibel testing

  •  Replacement of 9V batteries

 

RCD Maintenance

  •  Check correct number of RCD’s are installed as per AS/NZS 3000:2018

  •  Ensure RCD’s operate when tested

  •  Ensure tripping times don’t exceed the limits specified in AS/NZS 3000:2018

Comprehensive Electrical Check - $115.50 incl GST

Usually conducted when landlords first lease their home, then the annual maintenance service can be conducted thereafter.

  •  Inspection of roof space and switchboard for compliance and safety

  •  Inspect downlights to ensure full fire protection

  •  Testing and inspection of protective earthing system

  •  Visual inspection of switches and electrical fittings – ensure they’re operating

  •  Check fixed electrical equipment is working

  •  Ensure a front security light is installed and operating

  •  Detailed photographic report and safety certificate supplied
